Privacy Policy

Overview
This Privacy Policy covers every app published by Haku Labs LLC ("Haku Labs," "we," "us"). Haku Labs builds privacy-first, on-device software: unless an app's section below says otherwise, we don't collect, transmit, or store your data on any server we control. Each app's specific data practices are documented in its own section below.
Ulana Studio
What Ulana Studio does with your data
All content you create or import in Ulana Studio — recordings, documents, notes, and related files — is processed and stored locally on your Mac. Ulana Studio does not send this content to Haku Labs or to any third party, and we have no server that receives, stores, or has access to it.
Optional AI features
Ulana Studio includes optional AI features you choose to set up: Ask AI Chat and Ask AI in the Library, where you type and send a message, and Session Insights, which automatically asks for a short summary and suggested tags the first time you save a session — with no message to type and no per-save prompt. All three use whichever AI connection you've configured. By default, that's AI software running locally on your Mac. If you've configured and approved a connection to an external provider (such as OpenAI or Google Gemini), any of these features — including Session Insights, automatically — can send that session's content to that provider under its own privacy terms. Ulana Studio always asks for your approval before the first time any of these features reaches an external provider. You can review or remove an AI connection, and reset every approval, at any time in Ulana Studio's settings.
System permissions
Ulana Studio may request macOS permissions — screen recording, camera, or file access — to power features you choose to use. These permissions are used only to perform the feature you requested. Ulana Studio does not request microphone access.
Analytics, tracking, and third parties
Ulana Studio does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not share data with any third party except an AI provider you've explicitly connected and sent a message to, as described above.
Children's privacy
Ulana Studio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. The app does not collect data on its own; the only way content ever leaves the device is the optional AI feature described above, which an adult user must explicitly configure and approve.
Changes to this policy
If an app's data practices change, or a new app is added, we'll update this page and revise the date above.
